MU Step Up (Dance Competition) is a dynamic and energetic solo and group dance competition that brings together dancers from all walks of life to showcase their skills, creativity, and passion for dance. From hip-hop to contemporary, street styles to classical, this competition will feature a range of dance genres, with the goal of discovering new talent and celebrating the universal language of movement.

MU STEP UP (Dance Competition)
- Judging Criteria :
1. Performance & Execution (30%)
Precision, coordination, and synchronization (for groups).
Energy level and consistency throughout the performance.
2. Choreography & Creativity (25%)
Uniqueness and originality of steps/movements.
Effective use of formations (for groups).
3. Expression & Stage Presence (20%)
Confidence, charisma, and engagement with the audience.
Facial expressions and emotional connection to the performance.
Use of stage space effectively.
4. Costume & Props (10%)
Appropriateness of attire based on theme or genre.
Effective and safe use of props (if applicable).
5. Overall Impact (15%)
Audience engagement and response.
“Wow” factor and entertainment value.
- Entry Rules & Guidelines :
1. Eligibility:
->Open to MU students.
-> Participants must register before the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted.
2. Categories:
-> Solo Dance: Individual performance.
-> Group Dance: A team performance with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 12 participants.
3. Performance Duration:
-> Solo: 4 minutes
-> Group: 6 minutes
4. Music & Props:
-> Participants must submit their music tracks in MP3 format at least 2 days before the event.
-> Backup copies should be carried in a USB drive.
-> Props are allowed but must be arranged by participants. No hazardous or firerelated props are permitted.
5. Attire & Costumes:
-> Costumes should be decent and appropriate for a university setting.
-> Any inappropriate dress code may lead to disqualification.
