Event Name : BUILD-N-LEAD

Event Brief :

This Management Game simulates the skills involved in choosing the right people and building a strong, cohesive, motivated, energized and focused team for a specific project or task, or in this case, a competition. In order to choose the right people, the Team Leader must have the skill of assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each person keeping the project/task requirements in sight. S/he should also have the skill and foresight to leverage those strengths to reap maximum advantage and convert the weaknesses into individual and team strengths. S/he should be able to craft effective strategies to win the competition. The Team Members on their part should work as a well-knit team which need to be facilitated by the Team Leader. The Observer in the Team should have sharp observation skill and oral reporting skill. To conclude, this game gives an opportunity to the participants to discover the above-mentioned skills in them or develop and hone them.

Rules / Guidelines / Judging Criteria For BUILD-N-LEAD

- Judging Criteria :

1

a.      Effectiveness of Leadership Style

b.      Effectiveness of the Competitive Strategy of theTeam

c.      Total number of successful baskets at the End ofthe Game

d.      The Clarity of the Observer’s Debriefing.

- Entry Rules & Guidelines :

.      Teams of Five Members Each: 1 Leader, 1 Observer, 3 Other Members

2.      The Leader will form a Basketball Team and have practice only to basket the ball into the net.

3.      Format is such that the other rules will be explained on the spot.

4.  After the rules are explained to the Leader, s/he is expected to explain the same to the Team Members and strategize to win the Game.

5.      The Observer will observe the whole of the Team Process and will give debriefing at the end of the Game.
