Event Name :
Agar Art
Event Brief :
Agar Art, also known as Microbial Art or Germ Art, is a unique scientific–creative activity where participants create artistic designs by culturing microorganisms on agar plates in predefined or imaginative patterns. The artwork develops as the microorganisms grow, forming visually striking designs based on their natural pigmentation and growth characteristics.
In this event, participants may use bacteria, yeast or fungi selected for their natural colors and textures. All required materials—including culture media, microbial strains, agar plates, and laboratory facilities—will be provided by the organizers. Participants are only required to bring their creativity and imagination to design and present their microbial artwork.
