MU FEST 2026 Business Plan Competition The Faculty Coordinator would be available for Mentoring to explain the following details with prior appointment. Rules and Regulations • Eligibility: UG and PG students (individual or team of max 3). • Submission format: PDF for business plan; PPT/PDF for pitch deck. • Originality: Plagiarism or copied ideas will lead to disqualification. • Deadlines: Strict adherence; late submissions not accepted. • Presentation time: 7–10 minutes + 5 minutes Q&A. • Evaluation: Based on rubrics provided. Competition Rounds 1. Round 2: Business Plan Submission o Structured plan (10–15 pages). (See Structure for Round 2: Business Plan below) 2. Round 3: Pitch Deck Submission o 10–12 slides in PPT/PDF format. (See Structure for Round 3: Pitch Deck below) 3. Round 4: Oral Pitch o 7–10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A. Structure for Round 1 Business Plan Participants must follow this structure: 1. Executive Summary 2. Problem Statement & Opportunity 3. Business Model & Value Proposition 4. Market Analysis (size, trends, competitors) 5. Product/Service Description 6. Operations Plan 7. Management & Team 8. Financial Plan (projections, funding needs) 9. Social/Environmental Impact (SDG mapping) 10. Risk Analysis & Mitigation 11. Your Business Plan should be for a venture that is in an early stage, could be for-profit or not-for-profit. Ventures such as social ventures, circular economy ventures, and tech ventures are encouraged. The Business Plan should not typically include buyouts, entity expansions, funds, or franchise purchases. 12. Specification for Business Plan: 5000 words, Times New Roman 12 font, 1.2 line spacing, 1-inch margin all sides. 5-10 slides for PPT presentation. Time allowed: For PPT presentation-5 Min, Elevator Pitch- 1 Min, Q&A- 10 Min. 13. After submission of the Business Plan, your entire team must be present to make an Elevator Pitch, and/or PPT presentation. Absence of one or more members will disqualify your chance. 14. The other reasons that may disqualify your participation are: Plagiarism, any form of academic dishonesty, violating anybody’s intellectual property, or failure to comply with the rules of this competition. 15. The decisions of the Judging Panel are final and binding. 16.
