CAD challenge
Event Brief :
The CAD Challenge is a technical, time bound individual competition organized under MU Fest 2026 by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, FoET. The event aims to assess participants’ proficiency in 3D modeling using Creo Parametric software. Participants will be provided with a modeling task at the start of the event and are required to develop an accurate and complete 3D model within the stipulated time. Evaluation and ranking will be based primarily on the minimum time required to correctly complete and submit the model through the participant’s institutional email ID. The event emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, modeling discipline, and professional CAD practices.

Rules / Guidelines / Judging Criteria For
CAD challenge
- Judging Criteria :
Successful completion of the assigned 3D model with acceptable accuracy
Minimum time taken to complete and submit the correct model
Email submission timestamp from institutional email ID will be considered for official time
Modeling quality and best practices will be considered only in case of a tie
- Entry Rules & Guidelines :
Participation is strictly individual (solo)
Only undergraduate students of MU are eligible
Only Creo Parametric software is allowed
Use of other CAD software, plugins, macros, or external assistance is prohibited
Internet usage is allowed only for institutional email submission
Submission must be done through the participant’s institutional email ID
Creo model file (.prt) and PDF must be submitted via email within the given time
Late, incorrect, incomplete, or non institutional email submissions will be disqualified
The decision of judges and coordinators will be final
Winners
First Prize: Participant with the least time to correctly complete and submit the model
Second Prize: Next fastest valid submission
Third Prize: Third fastest valid submission
