Ad-Mad Show
Event Brief :
The Ad-Mad Show is a high-engagement, experiential learning activity designed to strengthen students’ creative, analytical, and practical advertising skills. The activity challenges student teams to critically evaluate real-life Indian advertisements that are outdated, confusing, or ineffective and transform them into impactful campaigns suited for today’s young Indian audience. Students will be divided into 13–15 teams (each comprising 2–5 members, depending on participation). Each team will be assigned one real Indian advertisement—such as an overly dramatic traditional ad, a cluttered local ad, or a brand’s unsuccessful attempt to appear trendy on social media. Acting as creative agencies, teams will be given 20 minutes to “hack” the assigned advertisement by reworking the visuals, rewriting the copy using compelling Hindi/English or Gen-Z-oriented language, and redefining the platform (e.g., Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts). The outcome will be presented on a single PowerPoint slide. Each team will be allotted 3 minutes to present their redesigned advertisement, clearly justifying their creative strategy, messaging, and platform choice. The activity aims to convert students from passive consumers of advertising into active creators, fostering teamwork, time-bound creativity, critical thinking, and real-world marketing relevance in an engaging, competitive format.
