Event Brief :

The quiz competition is open to all GNM and B.Sc. Nursing students. Questions will be based on 1st Year GNM & B.Sc. Nursing subjects, along with General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and famous incidents from Bollywood & Hollywood, ensuring equal participation for all. Participation is individual, and each participant must register their name and course before the event. A total of 7 short-answer questions will be asked in one round. Each question carries equal marks. One minute will be given per question. The participant who raises their hand first will get the first chance to answer. If the answer is wrong, the next hand raise will be considered. No negative marking; 1 mark for each correct answer. There will be one main round followed by a final round for top scorers. Tie-breaker questions will be used if required. Use of mobile phones or electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited. Discipline must be maintained throughout. The decision of the Quiz Master and Organizing Committee will be final. Certificates/prizes will be awarded to the Winner and Runner-Up only.

Rules / Guidelines / Judging Criteria For NURSING QUIZ BALL

- Judging Criteria :

The judging of the quiz competition will be carried out in a fair, transparent, and unbiased manner based on the following criteria:

1. Accuracy of Answer

  • Each question carries 1 mark.

  • Marks will be awarded only for correct answers.

  • No marks will be given for wrong or partially correct answers.

  • There is no negative marking.

2. Time Management

  • Participants must respond within 1 minute for each question.

  • Answers given after the allotted time will not be considered.

  • Questions not attempted within the time limit will be declared unanswered.

3. Hand-Raise Priority

  • The participant who raises their hand first will be given the first opportunity to answer.

  • If the first answer is incorrect, the next eligible participant will be allowed to answer.

  • Priority will be strictly decided by the Quiz Master’s observation.

4. Clarity and Confidence

  • Answers must be clear, precise, and audible.

  • Ambiguous or unclear answers will be treated as incorrect.

  • No hints, discussions, or prompts will be allowed during answering.

5. Scoring & Record Maintenance

  • Scores will be recorded immediately after each question.

  • The participant with the highest total score will qualify for the final round and win accordingly.

  • In case of a tie, tie-breaker questions will be conducted to determine the result.

6. Discipline and Fair Play

  • Any form of cheating, misconduct, or use of electronic gadgets will result in disqualification.

  • Arguments or disputes with judges or organizers will lead to penal action or disqualification.

  • Participants must follow instructions given by the Quiz Master at all times.

7. Final Authority

  • The Quiz Master and Organizing Committee’s decision regarding scoring, eligibility, and results will be final and binding.

  • Any unforeseen issues will be resolved by the organizers in the interest of fair conduct.

QUIZ COMPETITION – RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Eligibility & Participation

Note: All entry rules, eligibility conditions, and participation guidelines are specified strictly as decided by the Event Coordinators and must be followed by all participants.

  1. The quiz competition is open to all students, including GNM and B.Sc. Nursing students.

  2. Questions will be based on 1st Year GNM and B.Sc. Nursing syllabus, so that both junior and senior students can participate equally.

  3. Participation will be individual, not in teams.

  4. Each participant must register their name and course before the competition begins.

2. Question Pattern & Syllabus

  1. A total of 7 questions will be asked in one round.

  2. Questions will be from the following areas:

    • 1st Year GNM & B.Sc. Nursing subjects

    • General Knowledge (GK)

    • Current Affairs / World Affairs

    • Famous incidents from Bollywood & Hollywood

  3. Questions will be of short-answer type.

  4. All questions will carry equal marks.

3. Time Rules

  1. One (1) minute will be given to answer each question.

  2. If no participant raises their hand within one minute, the question will be skipped or declared unanswered.

  3. No extra time will be given beyond the allotted time.

4. Answering Rules (Hand Raise System)

  1. The participant who raises their hand first will get the first opportunity to answer.

  2. If the first participant gives a wrong answer, the second hand raise will be given a chance.

  3. If no second hand raise is found, another one minute will be given for the same question.

  4. Once a participant starts answering, no discussion or interruption is allowed.

  5. Answers must be clear, audible, and confident.

5. Scoring Rules

  1. Correct answer: 1 mark

  2. Wrong answer: No negative marking

  3. Partial answers will not be awarded any marks.

  4. Scores will be recorded after each question.

6. Round System

  1. There will be one main round for all participants.

  2. The highest scorer from the main round will qualify for the Final Round.

  3. In case of a tie, tie-breaker questions will be asked.

7. Final Round Rules

  1. Qualified participants will compete in the Final Round.

  2. The participant with the highest score in the Final Round will be declared the Winner.

  3. The participant with the second highest score will be declared the Runner-Up.

8. Discipline & Conduct

  1. Participants must maintain silence and discipline during the quiz.

  2. Mobile phones, smart watches, and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited.

  3. Cheating or unfair practices will result in immediate disqualification.

  4. Arguing with the Quiz Master or organizers is strictly prohibited.

9. Organizer’s Authority

  1. The decision of the Quiz Master and Organizing Committee will be final and binding.

  2. Organizers reserve the right to modify rules if required for smooth conduct of the event.

  3. Any unforeseen situation will be resolved by the organizers.

10. General Rules

  1. Participants must be present before the quiz starts.

  2. Late entry will not be allowed.

  3. Certificates/Prizes will be awarded to the Winner and Runner-Up only.

  4. All participants are encouraged to take part with sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and fairness.
