As a highlight of MU Fest 2026, we are thrilled to announce the Cultural Dance Competition, a celebration of movement, heritage, and modern flair. This is your chance to showcase your talent, passion, and creativity in front of the entire university. Whether you find your soul in the rhythmic footwork of Classical traditions or the high-energy beats of Western styles, this stage belongs to you. We welcome everything from Kathak and Bharatanatyam to Hip-Hop, Contemporary, and Jazz. Competition Categories • Solo: Command the spotlight and tell your story through individual expression. • Duet: Perfect your chemistry and synchronization in a powerful pair performance. • Group: Bring the house down with collective energy and stunning formations.

Rules / Guidelines / Judging Criteria For Cultural dance

- Judging Criteria :

1 Technique & Skill: Precision of steps, body control, and mastery of the specific dance style (Classical or Western).
2 Choreography: Creativity of the routine, transitions, and how well the stage is used.
3 Rhythm & Timing: How accurately the dancer stays on beat with the music.
4 Synchronization: (For Duets and Groups) How well the team moves together in perfect harmony.
5 Expression & Energy: Facial expressions, confidence, and the "vibe" or connection with the audience.
6 Costume & Impact: Overall look, appropriateness of the outfit, and the "wow" factor of the performance.

Dance Event–Rules and Regulations
Category: Solo, Duet &Group

General Guidelines:  
Eligibility: 
Open to MU students.
Participants must registerbefore the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted
2  Categories:
 Solo Dance: Individual performance.
 Duet Dance: Two persons
Group Dance: A team performancewith a minimum of 3and a maximum of 12
participants.
3.Performance Duration:
Solo: 4 minutes
Duet: 4 minutes
Group: 6 minutes
4.Music &Props:
 Participants must submittheir music tracks in MP3 format at least 2 days before the event.
 Backup copies should be carriedin a USB drive.
 Props are allowed but must bearranged by participants. No hazardous or fire- related props are permitted.
5.Attire &Costumes:
 Costumes should be decent andappropriate for a university setting.
 Any inappropriate dress code maylead to disqualification.






Winners

Solo (winner, 1st Runner up and 2nd Runner up)
Duet (winner, 1st Runner up and 2nd Runner up)
Group (winner, 1st Runner up and 2nd Runner up)
